Hello all.

I'm new to the forum, apologies if I may be in the wrong place to put this thread. I would greatly appreciate any advice or help regarding this matter.

I work in the NHS as a nurse. I recently discovered that for 2 and half years now, I had had no increment rise. All of the people that started the same time with me has about £3,000 difference with what I am receiving. I never noticed since I thought I should just be earning the same since I stopped doing night shifts and is no longer entitled to night enhancements, not until my wife sort through my payslips recently. On my payslip, my next increment date is still February 2010, which means my last increment was 2009.

My question is, can I claim it back? How far back can I claim? I've been searching the web to find any clear policy about underpayments but I cant seem to find any.

Thank you all in advance!

In the first instance, raise it with your manager or if you wish, contact payroll for an explanation.

Thanks for the quick reply, however, one of my colleague had the same problem which she have raised with payroll, and was adviced to speak to the ward manager instead. She was told she could only give her back 6 months out of one year. Can this be possible?
