Mortgages and DMP's

I have a joint mortgage with my husband with Northern Rock and I'm considering entering into a DMP with CCCS which obviously means defaulting with creditors and maybe some CCj's on my credit file. My mortgage payments will not be affected in any way.
Does anyone know how this will affect us in the future if say would like to move house in a couple years and take out a new mortgage or has anyone else been in the same situation?
Many thanks for any advice you can throw my way!
