Living Abroad- pensions savings agghh

I know this isn`t the normal type of thread but I need some advice and I wanted to cheer everyone up. I know it`s hard to realise how much you`re pound is worth but believe me it`s worth an awful lot recently!!!
I came to japan to clear my debts and have done - only to find that the yen is at an all time low and my new savings are worthless! Or worth half what they were last year.
I think I`m here for a few more years (can`t afford to go home -house prices rent etc!!) but i don`t know what to do about saving, pensions etc. I have no provisions and I need them but how can i get the money I earn here to retain some value. Offshore tax havens is the image but I don`t have anywhere near enuff to run one. I can`t send money back like I used to as it loses all it`s value!!! HELP --if U can!!!!
