Cheapest or free place to park in Manchester city centre

Hello, I was wondering if you could recommend where is the best place to park in Manchester city centre during the weekends? Usually I park in Miller Street car park near to Victoria station, the location is handy if I want to go to Arndale but bit of a trek if going to places like Chinatown. It costs £2 during the weekend so yeah, any other places that are even better to park?

There is lots of free street parking on the roads parallel to Cheetham Hill Road... Its a bit of a trek to The Arndale but I've always been able to park there and its safe in the daytime0

I live in the city centre and had a car until the council introduced the stupid new parking rules. I reckon you'll be hard pressed to beat £2 all day, although if you're going to be less than three hours I often used to park at Urban Exchange (where Aldi is) on Great Ancoats for free.0
