Have you had any firm declines aside from the ones you mention and if so from what bank?
No solution is easy, or like you say broker would have nailed before now and you would not need post.
Does not mean there is not a solution though...
If Nationwide were prepared to lend aside from the credit cards (and I would confirm this with broker) then credit score is ok and affordability the issue but this would not make sense. Need to quality check what the broker has said and done.I am a Mortgage Broker

no its current debt that is in my name only - i still have both these cards.
we applied late last year (and declined) to post office before doing the sensible thing and going to a broker.
the broker didnt actually say nationwide would agree if the debt was paid off they said the wouldnt consider with the debt.Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping !!0 -
Ok - making sense.
Which company are your credit cards with and which bank is your main banks (or bank if joint)
I stil cant see past Halifax appearing the best option, although would make a difference who were the creditors at bankruptcy..I am a Mortgage Broker

cc with santander and joint bank with santander. he has an account with barlcays where his wages go but they are then transfered standing order into the joint.
im pretty sure the creditors were northern rock (loan which was majority) and cc which i think were hsbc and mbna. i dont think he had anything with halifax.Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping !!0 -
At which point, I think MBNA have transferred their bad credit history data within Santander now, so makes Halifax the stand out choice.
However, this is not a straightforward situation and cannot be taken as advice because to give advice I (or anyone on here) would gather a whole lot more information including full sight of both of your credit files. That way a decent broker would optimise the chances of your success..
Also, upon analyisng your credit reports it may be that it would be better to put your name on the application first (sounds stupid I know)I am a Mortgage Broker

This is great news, I think!!
Be very careful, I am a fan of the Halifax flexibility although at AIP stage it is only a soft foot print. It is by no means a guarantee, get this to full application asap for a bit more definition..
Well done, fortune has favoured the brave this time. Shame on your broker, he would have been able to place with Halifax..!I am a Mortgage Broker
