Was wondering if somebody can help with this.
I only work 30 hours a week and and full tim eat university. I have about 20k worth of debt and am considering bankruptcy due to not being able to pay my creditors.
However, recently I have had about 4k go into my account from the student loans company. Will this be taken in bankruptcy as I really need that money for living costs
Thanks

Hi steviea72 and Welcome to the Bankruptcy (BR) Board. I wouldn't of thought the OR could touch your student loan money, but hopefully another poster can advise further. Also any previous student loans will not be included in your BR, these will have to be paid back so your first step is to make a list of all your creditors, debts and assets. Secondly and most important is contact one of the following debt charities. Please try these they don't charge and are impartial. They will go through all your options with you and if they suggest bankruptcy then come back to this board and we will help you all we can. Also if your not ‘clicking’ with one of the Debt charities do try another. We advise you to try at least two for your own piece of mind. Your BR could be refused if you have not sought advice.
