Book 3 of the popular Detective's Daughter series, which has only been out a while has been deeply discounted on Kindle to just 19p. I've not read it myself (I don't often read detective stories) but my daughter is very keen on these books.

The Detective's Secret (Detective's Daughter Book 3) by Lesley Thomson currently on Kindle for just 19p. It seems to be a price match against an offer at Nook, their "daily find", so I assume the price is just for today.

I found the book above (Detective's Daughter) as I monitor the offers at Nook as they are usually, but not always, price matched at Kindle. I like to buy my ebooks at Kindle so that they are all in one place. The page I monitor is -

    http://www.nook.com/gb/store/books

I haven't mentioned this before as I haven't been very impressed by the selection for a good few months now, which may just be a question of my taste. They do a monthly sale with very good prices and sometimes, in my opinion, good books. There's no point getting a book just because it is cheap. Anyway, last year they did some very good offers in their monthly sales and I picked up some good books, many at 59p (e.g. Derek Robinson, Ben Macintyre) but since then I have been disappointed. But rather than me judging and telling you about the ones I like, take a look there and click through to the July Sale and future sales and see what you think for yourself and then take a look to see if any books you are interested in are price-matched on Kindle, if you prefer books in Kindle format (as this thread is about cheap Kindle books).

I use Firefox browser and have installed an add-on that lets me highlight a bit of text and right-click on it to do an immediate search of Amazon and that way I can quickly see what Amazon are charging and go on through to the Kindle page if I want. So I can highlight the title or author on Nook and go straight to it in Amazon.

I hope you find something you like.

PS I have just had another look and where I expected to see "July Sale" I found "NOOK's Summer Holiday Reads" reads instead. It lists broadly the same books as I saw last time I looked at July Sale. You can still find the July Sale by clicking theough "Special Offers" and that does have a number of differences. I have also noticed in the past past that their monthly sales can add or lose books through the month. That sort of thing irritates me. They also carry a lot of books through from the previous month's sale.

Russian Roulette (Dev Haskell - Private Investigator, Book 1)

PI Dev Haskell wakes up one morning in dire need of an asprin, a cup of coffee, and an hour in the sauna. It seems he's just spent a wild night with his beautiful bombshell of a client, Kerri, and she's left him a note. A smart and sly man who fancies himself just a little more savvy and debonair than reality confirms, Dev thinks he's got it made. But he has absolutely no idea what he's getting into when he agrees to track down Kerri's sister Nikki. Turns out both women are involved in an elaborate human trafficking ring with Braco the Whacko, a notorious Russian mobster, at the helm. Soon Dev finds himself at odds with local police, Homeland Security, and an FBI task force, as well as in and out of the hospital thanks to a gunshot wound and a bit of shrapnel in the rear, not to mention on the run from a neurotic underworld boss and a psychotic killer: it must be love...

Miami Requiem: A Crime Thriller (Deborah Jones Crime Thriller Series Book 1)

A devastating race-against-time crime thriller for fans of John Grisham, Sara Paretsky, James Patterson, and Karin Slaughter.
'She wanted the truth. They wanted her dead'.
Since her first day on the Miami Herald, rookie reporter Deborah Jones has been agitating for a shot at one particular story. William Craig is on Death Row, convicted of killing Senator Jack O'Neill's only son. There is no question of his guilt. Craig murdered the young man who was acquitted of raping his granddaughter. There are only five weeks and one day until his execution. And Craig has not given a single interview. Deborah Jones has assembled a whole dossier on the case, including court transcripts and every newspaper clipping. She wants to know what prompted Craig to exact revenge. And she has her own, very personal reasons for wishing to uncover the truth. Managing editor of the Herald Sam Goldberg is well aware that Senator O'Neill, a vengeful man, has powerful friends, some with Mob links. The two men have crossed swords on a number of occasions. But against his better judgement, he decides to give Deborah a chance to prove herself. Only with one warning - 'Be careful. Florida may be the Sunshine State to most people. But it's not. It's a swamp. Don't ever forget that.'
