Endowment bonus

Hi, I have been looking for a while now, to get an idea of whether maturing with profit endowments pay out a terminal bonus ? Anyone had a policy mature in recent times that includes one? Last time on here I was told that they have not been paying these for years, then I read that some have been receiving them, I have no idea, and it seems my endowment co. don't either.

It's possible for a life office to be paying a terminal bonus on plans of certain terms, where it doesn't pay terminal bonus on others.

I can't tell you for certain, but I'd say there's a better chance of a terminal bonus on a plan which has run for 25 years or longer, than there is on a 10 year plan.

I may be completely wrong, but longer term plans normally gave that scope for undistributed profits which were allocated at maturity.

Thanks, mine is a 25 year with profit. CM will not talk much on the subject, I cannot seem to find any detail on policies muturing now either. I have 6 months to run and wanted to know roughly where it stood, but will have to just wait it out I guess.

I'm interested too as my Clerical Medical 25yr endowment policy is due to mature in May.

They don't give much info away on the phone Andy. I cannot find bonus history either for recent years or any years come to that. Good luck in May, if yours is with profits would you keep me posted ?

Have you asked them what terminal bonuses similar policies have paid in previous years?

Have you asked them what the terminal bonus is on a similar policy that matured last month?

These will be questions that they should be able to answer.

That said, any answer given is historic. Not a commitment to fund your policy to a certain level.
