I don't think you can buy any over the counter. I always thought Fucidin was available to buy without prescription and tried to buy a tube last summer without success. There weren't any alternatives offered either.

Not exactly over the counter but I got some Neosporin when I last went to the US and just had a look and you can get it from UK sellers on Ebay.

Thing is, different antibiotics work in different ways so it's important to get the right antibiotic for your needs. Would a trip to the docs be out of the question?

.... ooooh NEVER self medicate with antibiotics. That's why antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria are increasing. It's becoming more and more of a problem! Together with inappropriate prescriptions (eg antibiotics for viral infections !!!!!!!) and inappropriate usage in agriculture... we're all doomed. :(. Also - don't flush drugs down the loo... or put them in a bin. Take to a pharmacist who will dispose of them properly.

Are you sure you mean 'antibiotic' OP? Or do you mean 'antiseptic' or 'anti-inflammitory'?

If your looking for either the best thing to do is to go do a pharmacy and explain your problem, explain you have tried milder products to no avail and want the strongest thing you can get. Be careful though as some stong things can affect your skin and cause more problems if used incorrectly (as I'm sure will be explained to you.)

    Thanks all.

Went to pharmacy today and was told you can't buy any antibiotic cream over the counter at all.

I was sure you used to be able to buy antibiotic cream. Oh well, possible trip to the Docs coming up. :)
