Just paid off my biggest debt!!!

I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!

the story goes a little something like this:

got into debt being a student and living a lavish lifestyle. graduated and decided to get a graduate loan of £5000 which I spent on paying off an overdraft and more clothes/shoes/partying. Then a year later decided I 'needed' more money so increased the loan to £10,000?!?!?!?! MADNESS!! Again, cleared a couple of debts and more shoes/clothes/partying.

Can I just add that I thought I was just getting a 5K loan/10K loan and didnt realise the interest meant another couple of grand?!?!?!??

Then in September 2004 I discovered this site and I realised I was paying so much out in interest so I asked them to reduce the term of my loan from 5 years to 3 years and they reduced the rate by 1%. I opened a regular saver account and saved £250 a month for a year. The last year I had a few ups and downs and didn't save as much as I should (slaps hands) but I still tried to put a little bit into my ISA.

And I have just paid off the whole loan in full!!! 2 years early!!!

All £5680.56 of it!!!

Now I've got a credit card on 0% and my overdraft to tackle so I'm not completley debt free, but boy has a weight been lifted off my shoulders :)

Boyf and I are now going to start saving for a deposit, which I can comfortably do, as well as paying off the last of my debts.

I'M CHUFFED TO BITS :)

    THANKS EVERYONE!!!

just set up a standing order to go from my bank account for £600 a month -half to go to my ISA and the other half to go to my savings account, rather than half to go to paying the loan and the other half to go for saving to pay for the pesky loan!

    SO PLEASED!!!!!!
