Getting a wriggle on....

Hiya, I'm not too sure if this is the right section- I've put it into another one but can't seem to delete it...anyway here goes...

I'm feeling a little (Well, a lot) overwhelmed by money stuff at the moment- and part of my reasons for joining up are well, just to gab to others in similar situations really.

I've been self employed since leaving university a couple of years ago and have been living out of an overdraft - I was very lucky to have the support of my (at the time) partner who was paying the rent, on the agreement that I would pay back when I had the money.

I have a history of depression (As do many people) and thought I was keeping on top of it all. Until I realised, well, my finances are an absolute state.

I'm looking for employment, as I'm simply not making anything being self-employed - I'm currently signed off sick with being poorly with depression and I'm just in the process of trying to claim some help with my rent costs and hopefully some help with backpay from being self-employed and not earning anything from it.

I am now not in a relationship, yet living in the same flat as my ex as I simply have no money to move out/support myself. I was worried as my overdraft was getting charged monthly, and I don't have enough to pay the next set of interest next month.
I've been really fortunate to be able to cash in a bond - which was intended for my inheritance, so I feel a big bloody failure for that one.

However, the plan is to pay of the bank overdraft so I'm clear with that, and the remainder is going to have to pay people off who've lent me money so far (and that won't even make the tiniest dent) - so after this, I'll have no money in the bank.

I completely understand that people on here are in more serious situations, and this may seem like a little problem, but I'm just worried that I'll get caught up in the trap of loans and debts etc on a larger scale than I am now.

So, sorry for the essay -just to say hello, and I'll be reading up on as much as I can to get myself sorted and getting back on track.

good luck to everyone who's getting a wriggle on!

i'd say hold off paying others, try and keep within your overdraft to avoid the other charges and try and if you and your partner are not on talking terms arrange to try and find somewhere else if possible try and move out as this could also be making your depression worse
