I'm really struggling to understand the logic here
£50 for a player that works but isn't a big name or £22.99 for something that has shocking reviews but is a big name?0 -

I really like my DVD DIVX bush player, 29.99 from Argos

hmm... intriguing.0 -
If you want this player for Divx use, make sure that you can update the firmware. When new Divx codecs come out and people use them to encode DVD's to Divx then you will need to upgrade the firmwareto be able to view the film.
Kiss and Yamada are pretty good at this, others like Medion/Tevion are nearly impossible.

I thought they settled for the current standard. It seems pointless tom me that that they try to improve on the current DIVX 6. Saying that, it has been the standard for a long time now.0 -

has anyone found a multi region hack for the bush dvd2054divx yet?
I bought mine from argos a couple of weeks ago and it seems ok to me but would like to play region 1 stuff on it. I've tried dvd.reviewer.co.uk, videohelp.com and avforums.com but not found a hack yet.0 -
i have tried the codes but none of them seem to work...have you managed to find one yet...0

Bit late to the party here but I've managed to find a code that works for the DVD2054DIVX:
- Power on the machine
- Open the disc tray using the remote
- Press 2,8,1,2,9 on the remote
- If it's worked a number 9 should appear on screen briefly

No, it's rubbish.
Felt the need to add this in here when searching the web for fixes for the player.
If it's the dvd2054 your enquiring about, mine has lasted 4 months and during that time gave intermittent problems.
I can no longer play any media without it stuttering or skipping.
Bear in mind I've never moved the player or damaged it in any way - it's simply sat in my tv cabinet.
It's entirely possible that it's got dirty, but the very fact that it lasted 4 months before skipping speaks volumes!
I've had DVD players last 10 years without having to clean them.
The build is very cheap. The DVD tray feels so flimsy, it could snap off in your hand.
Don't buy it, rather opt of a Philips DVP-5960 - it has USB input (sure, it's only USB 1.1, but it's great for playing Divx files)0
