Nothing in theory shellac is just a brand name, theres also NSI polish pro, geleration by Jessica and Shellac is by Creative nails. The art of being happy is to be satisfied with what you have

Darling - just the price and the fact you do it at home. Looked on the ingredients and Sensationail has got same in as Gelish which is another salon one.
Anyway, I have done mine now and it was so easy!
I am ok at putting nail polish on, but not brilliant at using my left hand and tend to get a bit on skin etc. I loved that I could do any 'cleaning up' I needed to easily before I put under the lamp to set.
As soon as I did the last cure and wiped them they were totally dry - no smudging possible. Now they are shiny shiny!!0 -
Thanks for posting this - great find!
I do have a question one of you lovely people may be able to help with - I love the Shellac polishes but obviously they're a bit pricey to have done often! I am very, very tempted to buy one of these Sensationail sets and give it a go.
However, I'm not a massive fan of coloured nails, and always go for a french polish when I have Shellac done at a salon. I assume that eventually they'll release french polish colours for this - however, if not, can I buy other brands of polish to use? Am just wondering as someone either here or on the Boots reviews put something about this one usig LED light to cure and polishes like Shellac using UV light - so would I be right in thinking if I bought another brand's polish, it may not cure properly under this light?
Otherwise, if anyone can direct me to where I can buy a lamp and the correct polishes to use for it in order to try a french polish, that would be great :-)
TIA

They don't currently do a white but there is a pale pink or you can just use the base/top coat for a more natural look. Apparently you can then use 'normal' white polish on top for the nail tips and a normal top coat and it will last longer because it's on gel. Or, if you leave the white tip to dry completely you can then seal it using the clear sensationail top coat and putting under the lamp.
Have a look on the Sensational Facebook page as there are tons of hints and tips on there!
Other things I've picked up are that it can be quite difficult to remove in which case it's worth trying to skip the primer to see how that works.
Finally, I wouldn't remove by dipping your fingers in a bowl of acetone - you're better off putting some acetone soaked cotton-wool on the nails and wrapping in foil as it's less damaging.

A little warning for anyone who purchased this product. After just two uses, my lamp unit has packed up and won't even light up. I'm being quoted 4-6 weeks for a replacement which I think is totally unacceptable on an £85 product
Maybe you do get what you pay for after all

Hi all
Just seen this thread. I purchased the Sesationail kit from Asda a few weeks ago for £60. I dont think I can post a link but they also have it on Asda Direct. Also, the polish's are only £10 each in Asda. My local stores only have around 3 or 4 different colours but they seem to be getting more in.

I really like my kit, although I purchased the espresso bean and it was not at all similar to the shade on the box (kinda greenish rather than brown, my mum said it looked like goose poo!:rotfl:) and neither was disco fever (more of a silver then grey). Seems the "stronger" colours are more similar to the box shades.
From what I could see, these prices are the same on the sensational website.
Hope this helps.0
