Not really, although can potentially save you putting as big deposit down..

Have not caught up with reading all of the criteria yet, so unless there is a bit about the banks lowering their rates for Newbuy clients I would say not...

And just re-read your intial post and you need your wife to change everything over into married name. Starting to run duplicate credit files is not good for future prospects. Get this updated asap...

    All the best

Chances of getting on Newbuy are the same as getting a mortgage from NatWest, Barclays or Nationwide, as these are the first three lenders to sign up right at the beginning. Questionable, in my opinion.

Halifax and Santander will be later in the year, apparently.

My credit could be better, wife's excellent.

Question a lender would ask why a default for only £600?

    Would require a good explanation.

Because I worked in N.Ireland for 6 months and in my naivety just forgot about the CC. When I got back I had a nice letter explaining that unless I pay now it will be defaulted (dated in the forth month I was in NI)

    All settled now.

Like I put in another post. We really could do with moving NOW however we have potential to save £10000 - £15000 within a year.

This would take me well over the 3 year mark for the default too.
