tetley have packs out now with 100% extra free.

Sorry this is one thing we do not cut back on. Either PG TIPS or Tetley.

I bought 8 packs the last time i saw 100% extra free. (80+80) I say a pack lasts about a month in our house.
  • I work in care homes where sometimes the grocery budgets can be a little short and always find it is better all round to scrimp and save on most items is possible, but there is always an unwritten and sometimes written lore which states do not buy cheep tea, coffee or loo roll. The rest we will make do with if we have to. A good warm drink and good loo roll are the absolute basics the human race cannot live without.

On the odd occasion someone forgets and ends up getting cheap teabags (usually coffee drinkers) there is hell to pay. Either that or a few weeks of value coffee and those lowlifes get the message. Coffee drinkers, why can't they apply the same rules to other peoples drinks as they do their own!

SORRY, maybe the last paragraph is a little in the extreme.

tesco finest are really good, infact i prefer these to tetleys and almost as good as yorkshire t bags
    Give blood - its free
  • I brought a bag of 80+80 Tetley Teabags recently, im just sending them a complaint, the teabags clearly look different to the previous bag i purchased and is proven when i pour the water on them, the tea leaves all come out from the seals and its not very nice at all when you expecting a lovely cuppa and instead you get loads of bits floating about in your mouth! So be warned!

If you get a teapot and strainer and can be bothered then Tesco's own brand tealeaves make a really nice cuppa and its around 80p for the smallest bag and you can make loads of pots with it and it makes such a change from the everyday teabag.

tetleys also make quickbrew tea which is made in exactly the same way as there own but they dont do any shop brands .

if the tea bags are splitting at the sides there is a fault with them you should be able to flick the tea bag against the side of your thumb without the tea moving to the seal or splitting they should have been rejected

in the mail last week was a taste test of Tea, near the top (winner was lapsang souchon) was yorkshire tea red label. Better than their gold and way ahead of all the brands, regardless of bag shape (round, pyramid etc). Don't know about anyone else, but I am going to try the yorkshire brand again. Apparently tea isn't meant to brew instantly because this means it is bitter.
