Hi Guys,
My name is Paul and I am from the social media team for Currys, PCWorld and Dixons. I have just noticed this post and thought I would provide you with some information that I have with regards to this.
There had been confusion over Hand Mixers and Food Mixers over the weekend. We decided to provide extra clarification of a Food Mixer vs a Hand Mixer. The product descriptions (online and in store) state if the item is a Food Mixer (i.e. table top product) or a Hand Mixer (held in the hand). The Hand held mixers are excluded from the promotion and therefore should not actually be honoured when speaking to the store or customers services via the telephone.
Our Customer Services team have been advised of the error on our website where for a short period there was the ''Free £10 voucher when you buy me!'' logo beneath the product which has now been removed as this was a marketing error. We will be unable to honour anyone who has a copy of the original terms and conditions as the offer doesn't apply to the hand Mixer in question.
Please accept our apologies if anyone has been put out by this as we did not intend to cause any unnecessary problems.
All The best,
Paul

Will you give a refund of any used hand mixers then because of this error??
Clearly some would have bought purely on the advertised voucher promotion and will just end up with a hand mixer they may NOT have bought otherwise - the £10 voucher would have been a major decision maker here and Currys have got the sale on behalf of an error!

I'm assuming unused though??
I'm talking about ones bought on the strength of the advertised £10 voucher which have been used. The £10 was clearly promoted (see screenshots) and now pulled. Items now used and voucher offer pulled - can these be refunded ?? Perhaps as a goodwill gesture as they were sold with the error promotion??
I did OK, better than OK TBH as we were very lucky, but what about the others??

I presume this will NEVER happen again then as it is misleading to the customers when they SEE the logo underneath the item so therefore BUY it under false pretense??
Currys were VERY good at sorting things out for me last time they had this promotion but it seems there is a problem every time!

I Just got the following email today after my email to them a few days ago.
Thank you for your email dated 13th March 2012.
I am sorry to learn about the problem you have experienced with the £10.00 Mothers day voucher offer.
This offer does appear to have been extended to the £5.99 hand blender in error. The terms and condition do state, however, that this offer only applies to items £20.00 or over and that hand blenders are not included in this promotion.
Due to the error on our website I am arranging for a £10.00 voucher to be posted to you as a gesture of goodwill and that should arrive shortly.
Thank you for taking the time to contact us and please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Kind regards0 -
I went in to my local Currys to purchase a digi camera and to get the £10 voucher. There was no displays of the offer anywhere, so I asked the assistant whilst he was processing my purchase. He said he hadn't heard of the promotion. I said "I was told it was on purchases over a specific amount". He said, "Yes...over £250". I said, "Oh I thought it was over £20". He glared at me and as my till receipt came out, so did the voucher. "Oh" he said "you have got a voucher afterall". The question is - was I going to be scammed???????? Was he going to keep the voucher had I not be quite specific on the details? I guess I'll never know.0
