Good morning all,
I am just popping on quickly, I have not read back will try to catch up later. DD3 is home after her op, she is in a lot of pain, badly swollen and her speech is badly affectedFacial specialist has said that her adult teeth are destroyed and won't come through, she will need extensive orthodontic treatment
I can't put into words how I feel really, I am devastated for her how injured she is and what is to come for her, upset that my baby is so hurt (I cannot physically speak about it to anyone because I cannot stop crying) and bl00dy fuming at school who will be getting a visit from me tomorrow (teachers are all in school even though it is the hols) I am not a confrontational type at all but I cannot let it go. What if another child get's badly injured?
Any advice would be welcome on how to "word" things.
Anyway, enough rambling from me. I hope everyone else is well. I will try to get on again tomorrow.
Jax, I have not forgot about you and the T coupon's, I just have not been near a supermarket since last week, corner shop has been getting my business.....!!!!!
Oh FV my heart goes out to you all:(:(:( how devastating for your daughter give her an extra special hugg from us all.
Definately think a letter is needed from my experiences of school (which haven't been good) my bit of advice for every parent what ever the situation is record it best way through letter as they have to keep it on file (make sure you keep a copy for your records). Next is to write the letter when calm not very easy in your circumstances at the moment but draft it with all the detail while fresh then get someone to read it through and see if need any changes. Most schools don't like confrontational so if you have a meeting the hardest thing for you is to stay calm get your point across persuade them to your thinking without getting their backs up or appear like your attacking them. (When really you want to go in and tear a strip off them). No mean Feat. You haven't said much about what your daughters school are like you never know they may be just as shocked by the injury as you and are very willing to help/work with you to make sure it never happens again to another child. Remember years ago DS2 had only been at beavers a few weeks when they had been running around and he fell on to an old metal heater in the church hall burnt his whole arm awful frightening for us at the time (he fully recovered)although never returned to beavers which was a pity. Them heaters had been there for years no incident until then but through his injuries they were all removed and more suitable heating with guards were in their place. Just a shame a child has to be injured before things change.
There is one person you should PM on here for wording the letter our very own MAGS who better.
Just wished we could do more for you and what a start to the summer hols my heart really does go out to you all.0 -

Firstly lots of (((hugs))) to your daughter, that is a dreadful thing to have happened and must be so hard for you to see her in pain.:(:( I sincerely hope she starts to feel better soon, what a terrible start to her holidays.
When you go in school just ask them to explain exactly what happened and ask them if its in the accident book as well. Maybe ask to see a copy of their report on what happened so you know all the facts.
Then give it a week or so to calm down and then write a letter of complaint to the school and ask them to explain in writing what went so wrong that your daughter was badly injured like this, though you might not get a reply till school is back in at least you have put it in writing. (make sure you keep a copy of your letter and the schools reply.)
If you are not happy with their reply and you believe they were negligent you might want to consider seeing a solicitor and taking it further.
Lots of (((hugs))) to you and your family

!!
A simple letter would suffice, don't make it too long, let the school do the talking.
Dear .......... (Head's name)
As you are aware my daughter .......(daughters name).... was badly injured in school on......date....... As my daughter has suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident I would like a full explanation as to what happened, who witnessed the incident, and what happened after the incident.
I would also like to know what precautions have been taken to ensure such a terrible accident does not happen again.
Yours sincerely
signed.......
Don't say too much in your letter to them, you want the school to explain everything.
take care hun
