Welcome back Blue how was your Blackpool break:T

Thanks AH. THe break was great, but the weather was carp except for one day when it was lovely and sunny, which happened to be the day we were travelling there:cool: We still went up to the nearly top of the tower (top where light is not open to visitors), in the waxworks (really great) and the dungeons which was the biggest load of carp I've ever been in. http://www.the-dungeons.co.uk/blackpool/en/index.htm How they can call the dungeons an attraction I've no idea. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. At least it was free with the merlin passes so no loss except drinking time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We went via the Trafford Centre on the way back and picked up 2 of these http://www.hotelchocolat.co.uk/Chocolate-Eggs-P300246/ Shame they wouldn't let me use more than 2 of the vouchers, but the thick eggs were the 2 best I'd won:D I went into Asda and left my OH to womble (first timer). He was sooooo chuffed when he managed to get 6 receipts and beat a young boy to them. I found it difficult to tell him they were all carp as had less than 8 diff items on them.

Going to read back tonight with a bottle or 3, so hope your all ready for laodsa Blue's posts in the morning:D

Sounds like you had a great time despite the weather:j and although the dungeons were crap would have definately felt alot worse had you paid on the day to go in and not had the merlin pass. Just reminded me has your friend got hers via tesco rewards think she was going to change into Avios then get them through that, but someone posted on MSE more than a week ago abt tesco clubcard doing a reduced rate for the merlin passes through their own reward deals. Just going to check if still doing it sorry didn't pay to much attention as we weren't getting them this year.

Blue if you ever want a party party Travelodge definately recommend the Newquay one can't rate it highly enough.:j
Day we arrived a birthday party lot were booking in all dressed in quirky golf geer women and men they were definately having a great time they were having shots while on the train we were on. Then a stag party booked in blown up dolls the lot. The location perfect within staggering distance from clubs/discos, minutes to the beach coves plenty of surfing, plenty of restaurants and shops near by. As we not exactly party people was concerned abt noise but thought it would only be bad the sat night and would be calmer the rest needen't have worried only noise heard from our room was around 3.30 on Sat heard some people going past the door only as I was awake anyway.:jWhat made me really chuckle was when we were booking out a group of youngsters also booking out carrying box of Budweisser and WKD in arms and a slowcooker just reminded me of you:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry Blue yes they were doing it for £35 in clubcard vouchers instead of £46.50 but all sold out:(

I can't remember exactly what the situation is with my friend and the merlin passes, but I know it wasn't as simple as it sounded as you have to wait so long after joining avios before you can convert the points or something. I'll ask.

The youngsters must have had the toaster hidden;) We didn't take the slow cooker this time cos we had yate's burger and chips vouchers and pizza express ones.
I was very impressed with Pizza express and the Daily Mail 2 course vouchers. The only thing I didn't like was the prices of the drinks and I made a mistake with the first drink by buying the bottled water and not asking for free tap water, which I had later. I don't drink alcohol with a meal except for wine, but my OH had a bottle of lager and it was £5.95:eek::eek:The cheapest wine was £16.50:eek::eek: At least I liked some of the most expensive dishes on the menu and picked those, so for our 2 vouchers our meal we had would have been £32.95, so for a £40 meal with drinks we paid £7:beer:

AH do you get the telephone no's of the travelodges you go to in case you go to them again? We are such regulars at the Blackpool one that I ring up the night before and ask for a downstairs room nr the door/bar. The bar has free wi fi and the rooms nr to it also have it:D I'm not sure if it is something all Travelodges with Bars have, free wi fi.

Why didn't I think of that one:doh:getting the travelodge no, they have sea view rooms which are suppossed to have spectacular views. We thought they might allow us to change as we were there for nearly a week thinking it might have been quieter after the weekend it was booked all week not surprising as Easter Hols. They did offer to change us but we would have to book out and then rebook back in so stayed put as me lazy:D:D:D But guy at rec (staff were very good there) told DH if returning ring beforehand ie week before and try and request :Tbut DH didn't get a no :( but sure you maybe able to get it on travelodge site.

Being near the bar a good tip for wifi, as we paid £20 for the week but we needed to make sure we could access our emails.

Yes if your friend hadn't already changed before takes slightly longer to set up, normally they go on account from T's to Avios in a couple of days but the extra miles take about 2 weeks after that to have taken up the offer she would have had to change enough without relying on the extra miles and use the extra miles for another offer.

I am so cross with myself that I didn't remember your friend when saw that post as she could have changed them straight away with her clubcard vouchers much less hassle:mad: the trouble is T's don't advertise these offers only if you happen to be browsing their reward site or some good person may post on similar threads to this. They regularly do the Itune voucher £25 for £12.50 but these sell out normally within hours:eek: I got House of Frazer ones before Christmas they sold out in an hour.
