Who is fleecing me, Top Cashback or MoreThan?

Hi,

Got car insurance through my account with MoreThan via Top Cashback.

It had a 5.05% cashback which I chose on 11th October and ended up signing up with More Than.

The MoreThan Insurance has been operating since 28th October 2011, and I noted that the cashback (over £40) would not hit my account till 30th April 2012 (over 6 months).

However just the other day I noticed that it was marked as 'payable' £0.00 and this is the reasons:-

"If your transaction is now showing as Payable at £0.00, this generally means that the merchant has declined the transaction or informed us that the purchase made is not eligible for cashback.

We are not told the reason for this at this stage but it may include one the following:

You cancelled or returned the order or part of the order

You used an unauthorised promotional/voucher code not published by Top CashBack

You did not meet the merchant’s terms and conditions (see merchant’s page)

You asked for a quote but didn’t make a purchase

You used a saved/renewal quote to make your purchase

Should you see no reason for the merchant making this decision and are not affected by any of the above, please submit a Missing CashBack Claim using the form within the Customer Care Section."

Obviously it is still running as they are taking the near £90 out the bank every month.

It did seem that 6 months was a helluva long time, but I assumed maybe a 6 month waiting was what qualified, however the bizarre thing is now that the 'Missing Cashback Claim' form that TC mention cannot be claimed after '100 days'??? What the hell, how am I meant to do that if it takes 5 months until they actually decide to overturn it.

What can I do, can anyone help?

I am going to try and e-mail both of them and get a response, but this is a joke.

TIA

at least one of the cashback sites says treat any money back as a bonus rather than a certainty, but anyway when the RAC didn't pay out through quidco, I filled out the missing money form and got it eventually after about a year or so, so don't give up just yet.

more than wont help, it will probably say somewhere on the website not to contact them. I know it does on Quidco

Well if that's the case then I'll just not bother using TC unless it comes out cheaper than anything else, then I might be able to accept it's a bonus.

Without a doubt treat any cash back as bonus. I like other mse members had failures with both quidco and topcashback. Always appeal 50% success on quidco 100% fail on topcashback and always hide behind retailer.

Check the TCB thread in referrals as you aren't the only one, however as said cashback is a bonus rather than a given.

yeah never include cash back in your decision of which is cheapest, as it can backfire. i was declined once by endsleigh on Quidco and i appeled it and they paid, so as i said worth a shot...... :)
