BR aug 10 early discharge may 11.
Ive started credit clean up and most have updated when asked, however have had a letter from MEM asking for proof that the debt was included in br. It was obviously but do I have to prove it? I have already sent a copy of discharge cert. Is it right that I have to esndthem proof? No one else has asked for it.
Any one know?
Thanks

Do you have proof?
You don't need it, as the debt would be covered by the bankruptcy anyway, but it would simplify things if you have.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Only proof I can think of is the list of creditors on the br forms suppose I could send them a copy of that? Other than that I have already sent a copy of discharge cert, surely the or would have contacted them at the time?
I also wrote to all creditors at the time with a copy of br order.0 -
Well, you can either.......
(a) Write a snotty letter saying that you don't have to supply proof, and/or they've already had it.
or
(b) Just photocopy the creditor list and front-page of the forms and send them off saying "Here you are. Update my files or else".
While the pedantic sod in me says do (a), it may well be less hassle in the long run to just do (b).
Your call I suppose?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks, I will have a think. Like you Im tempted to go the snotty letter route:mad: but it may be easier to just send the paperwork. just wonder why they want it no one else has.0

The reason is probably that for a while the ICO wrongly put on their site that you could get defaults corrected "if they were listed on the statement of affairs".
That was a big boo-boo on the ICO's part, that has now (mostly) been corrected.
But I don't think a small proportion of creditors have caught up with that fact? Or maybe some just try to be awkward? Who knows?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
