Mortgage with Arrears

Hi,

I have been checking my credit reports with a view of getting a mortgage with my wife (who has excellent credit history). Experain indicated I had excellent credit (963) but that I wasn't on the electoral role (I have since registered with my authority). However, I ran a multi agency check and Equifax threw up a credit card that had been closed in Jan 2010, but had 2 single missed payments and one double missed paymentover nearly three years (the last single missed payment was Nov 2009, the double was Jan / Fen 2008).

My question is this:
Will this affect my ability to get a mortgage bearing in mind I have green credit on all other accounts going back to 2007 for my currant account and 2010 for my credit card (basically haven missed a payment on anything else since 2007).

I have no other loans as everything has been paid off on time etc. I am looking to get a 400,000 mortgage with a 25% deposit (cash form my savings and my partners).

Am I sub-Prime, near prime, prime?

Any help appreciated.

Just checking, were the payments missed or do you think this is an error?

The payments were missed, on oversight whilst moving house, kicking myself now of course. I am speaking with Santander, cooperative bank and nationwide at the moment and just want to know if I am wasting my time.

Santander could be a pain in the backside about it, recent criteria changes etc. They would used to have done this no problem.

Are there any lenders that you think might be more flexible / lenient?

I would be 99% confident that Halifax would do it.

Other lenders dependent on income multiple.

A lot will depend on the circumstances of your actual application and the underwriting criteria that the bank will use at this level of borrowing.
