    Seriously, getting angry and upset with other people angry and upset with BOI on the BOI thread is not going to resolve anything or help you in the long term...

    Apologies if someone else has already suggested this, but have you considered phoning your mortgage co and asking them for a break period due to your change in circumstances, or requesting a switch to interest only payments until your work situation improves and you can change either it back to full repayments, or refinance? If you could get them to agree to this it would at least give you some breathing space in the mean time without the worry of losing the house.
