no proof of payment then you owe the money.

Sadly, yes, you're right. I can't give up without a fight though as I can't afford to pay it again and now there is extra interest too!

I'm going to trawl bank statements but we saved up and had it in cash in a cupboard at home. We took from it a couple of times, so I know I made it back up before I paid it.

It's all very slippery looking - I'd be dubious if I was reading this, but I know I paid it! :( Very frustrating!

sadly your bank statements mean nothing. it would only be worth showing if they have a cash in balance that week. can you not speak to the guy who helped you and see if he remembers.

He doesn't work there any more. I'm not sure if he still volunteers for the credit union though.

I'm just going to have to explain what happened and take it a step at a time. Hopefully someone there will listen! We live and learn, eh?

If he departed under a cloud because people's money went missing, there's a glimmer of hope for you.

    If not, you're stuffed.

It could be anybody who had access to the room including cleaners, security guards let alone staff.
Without proof I fear you will have to pay again.
