    Its lovely isn´t it :(

Its just that I have worked incredibly hard to sort out our debts and credit history, I used to have the attitude of oh put it in the bin and ignore it until we started to have problems in the house we´re in now with youths. Pellets through open windows which hit where my 2 year old son had just been sitting but gladly moved, cars damaged, our neighbours house was recently set on fire after her just having a baby and she ended up with nothing at all left for her and her baby.

The impact of all those years ignoring debts has finally hit us. If we wanted to move to a better area whether privately renting or mortgage we just wouldn´t get accepted.

So the thought of a CCJ fills me with dread as it would be 12 months of hard work wiped out.

I suppose at least I can rest now at the thought of not having one but I´m annoyed at myself for not questioning the court fee. They would probably have gotten out of that one too.

The terms and conditions would probably have been on the website to be honest, you maybe just missed them,
and also likely to be on the paperwork sent to you after you paid your deposit, you possibly just read the parts that were prominent.

They wasn´t on any paperwork sent but I suppose it was up to me to read them on the website before ringing up. Its just I thought if I ring up I pay a deposit and then pay the rest of the holiday by the due date I never expected them to have this low deposit offer on they could have said over the phone.

Just take it as a learning experience.
Just think, in time you might have been into something for thousands of pounds and blythly gone ahead without reading the t & Cs.

With this experience under your belt, you will be reading every bit of small print that comes along.

Might save you a lot of money in the long run.

just move on from it and good luck.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I can only agree with the above, it 'smarts' I know, and I am sure that at some time or other, although we might all not to want to admit to it, we have all done something very similar! otherwise there would be no need for this site of us posters to have come here in the first place?

Remember the saying Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Try and put this nasty experience behind you, let it go, chalk it up to experience and continue onward with your 'march for freedom' from debt.

    Thanks everyone :)

Feeling a little better today and seem to be getting over the drop in my bank balance finally. I am one of those people though that will skim through terms and conditions I think because I get confused with the jargon and tie myself in knots over it so I will definitely be more careful in future.

I would have been aswell paying the £350 for the holiday seeing as I´ve paid almost half of it. I won´t be doing that again though!

    Thanks again xx

Wow, they wanted £85 and you called up and paid £120?

    Are you mad?!

You didn't even go to court and you've paid court costs.

I've lost my job and sympathise with your plight.

They would've had to pay the court fees when they made the application to the court. It would work exactly the same way, if you or I took someone to court, using the HMCS MoneyClaimOnline service.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Thats what I was thinking. The cost would´ve included the court sending me correspondence on behalf of hoseasons before it actually went to court.

My thoughts are that a CCJ would´ve hurt alot more than paying the £120 yesterday and I´ve learned a very valuable lesson x
