Northern Rock advice please

I recently split from my wife and we have both moved out of our marital home. I'm thinking of renting out the house but due to a shortfall I would have to contribute to cover the mortgage. As it is a Northern Rock Together mortgage, I was wondering if it's possible to only pay the secured part? Would NR take action to secure the unsecured element?

Hi,
My other half has a together mortgage and its been a bag of fun speaking to NRAM... Good Luck
They can delink the two if you were selling up (so you'd only have to pay off the mortgage) but i think (and purely a guess) they would try come after the house some how.
Both parts have there own credit agreement etc so i have no idea if they could do anything to you, but is it really worth the risk to blacken your credit file and hinder your chance of getting any kind of credit (including renting as they often credit check) for 6 years?
I got into credit problems at 20 years old and still trying to sort out my credit file and its a royal pain in the !!!! If only i knew then what i know now!!0
