I have an interview for what I believe is commission only, I will have to ask if there is a basic in the interview. Couple questions.
Is it possible to do a work trial for this type of work?
This is in store work, have you had experience doing commission only instore? any advice?
oh and they asked what car do I drive. Why is that relevant?
I'm very sceptical about this type of work, I just don't want to be up !!!! creek without a paddle.

It is possible to do a trial for any kind of work but as with all sales, until you learn the ropes you're not going to be doing great.
Never done commission only anywhere. Was offered it for telesales donkey's years ago but declined as there was too much of a dependency on others that I had no control over.
Re the car.... Are you likely to take clients anywhere or meet them on site/ at home like an estate agent or hifi sales person may?0 -
commission only i wouldn't touch with a barge pole any expense will be met by you and then there's no guarantee of earnings.0

It's OK in VERY limited circumstances - where you choose where and when to work, for instance!
But if someone can control where or when you work (eg in a shop, 9-5) then you should be guaranteed at least the minimum wage. I suspect it may even be illegal for you to be deemed an employee by HMRC but no min wage/NI paid0
