Mortgage increases....

Hi all,

I have read recently about the cost of mortgages going up.

Mine is currently a tracker based on the base rate with Santander and I was wondering if/when will mine be affected? I have tried looking on their website for details but not been able to find anything.

No, it's been announced today that it is being kept at 0.5%

I therefore don't think I will be affected, however I don't know if Santander will change the term of my mortgage to instead of being 2.99% above base to 3.49% for example.

No santander has not put the price of its mortgages up for existing customers only on new rates. It has not put its SVR up either

Read the small print of your mortgage contract.

Without doubt there'll be an exceptional circumstances clause in it somewhere.
