URGENT HELP- Jobcentre Plus

So this might be pretty long winded but i really need help!

I applied for a job through job centre plus website, i got an interview and was told to attend. After attending the interview i was rang by the employer who invited me for a second job in the Mayfair office.

Attending the interview i was told i would be working for a job in which i was to ring people collecting money for their "Events Company" but i would be working in a Bermondsey office as they needed to keep costs down, i obviously said "yes" and was hired to work the following friday 8 hours a week for 10 pounds an hour, something as a student i was more happy to do.

The night before i worked i text the employer for the address and he didn't text back so i gave him a ring, he explained to me i would have to meet him at Bermondsey station as i would be working from a FLAT and that this job title was not only for collections but the collections of money that men had spent on escorts.

Feeling uncomfortable i asked what the address was and he wouldn't disclose, so i told him i'd meet him there but never turned up

This job was falsely advertised through a government company, the job centre, if i was more desperate, a bit more stupid, i probably would have attended the job, not knowing what would happen.

I rang the job centre to forward a complaint, this man has all my details, address, telephone number and the fact i never turned up is causing me to be anxious of what might happen, have i !!!!ed him off? There response was that they still had vacancies registered from him and he holds open days there so they were going to ring and ask him, he'd know and hired me personally, so i refused and asked could they deal with it another way, the woman responded "no" she had to deal with it in that manner, it responded" im 23, vunerable to this situation and your going to ring up this employer, he's dodgy and surely you have measures to deal with this."Her response was that i shouldn't be bothered now they have been notified when i asked would his jobs not be advertised she replied "i'm going to speak with my manager but thanks for informing us."

Not only have the job centre wasted my time they have stopped me from potential other jobs i have turned down due to thinking i had a secure job provided by the job centre!!!!

I just wanted to know if anyone knew what they think I should do about this now, next stages i should take because im not happy with this outcome! At a time there is high sex trafficking due to the Olympics i don't think a government run agencies should subject any person to this kind of treatment and then do nothing about it!!!

Any input would be gravely appreciated!

Yes they do (or should do), that's the work of LMRAs or w/e they're called now.

@chloemoss5189: If you go back to the JCP to reclaim, the new claims adviser will refer your case to a decision maker (under Leaving Voluntarily). If they find you have a good cause, they won't sanction you. I can't see how they can with false advertising but knowing the inconsistencies that run amok in the DWP, I'm not sure I can say you'll in the clear over this.

that must be why so many of them are wrong, under the wrong headings, no contact or how to apply info etc.
  • Think I read something like this in the news. Was in USA. Work in escort service or have your JSA stopped. Lol.

The ones that employers put up are done in their own formatting, JCP staff will put vacancies on behalf of employers if they request it but you would think with all the dedicated teams out there managing the vacancies, there'd be some quality control but I guess there are too many vacancies out there.
