E: 30/04? win a five-night break for two at The Romanos

Overlooking the shimmering Ionian Sea, The Romanos at Greece's Costa Navarino offers chic, modern comfort in an ancient landscape. The 321 rooms at this Luxury Collection resort have stunning views and are set in gardens dotted with infinity pools. Visit the Anazoe Spa, play the coastal golf course or indulge at the excellent restaurants and bars.
Enter this month's Where Are You? competition and you could win a five-night break for two at The Romanos. The prize, worth €5,550, includes accommodation on a bed-and-breakfast basis in a deluxe room with an infinity pool, return flights from Heathrow with Aegean Airlines, transfers, a glass of champagne and free Wi-Fi. The holiday is subject to availability (excluding 9-16 April, 1-5 June, 1-18 August, 28-31 October 2012) and must be taken by 31 October 2012. The competition winner will pay flight taxes. For further details, see www.costanavarino.com and www.aegeanair.com.
To enter this competition, you'll need to turn to pages 146-147 of the April 2012 issue of Cond! Nast Traveller magazine, and identify the square in the picture.
Clue:
This picture spans more than 2,000 years of architectural history: the amphitheatre to the left (which spent decades buried under rubble and was only rediscovered after World War II) dates from the second century bc, the adjacent building with the clocktower from the 1930s. This comes as a surprise in the main square of a city famous for being dominated by another, completely different architectural style.
When much of the historic centre was being built in the 16th and 17th centuries, the principal material used was the easily carved local sandstone, which facilitated the development of elaborately decorated baroque churches. One of these is visible in the background, and many others are a short walk from the square. There are those who believe the city owes its survival to the saint whose statue stands on the column to the left: he is said to have intervened miraculously to save the population from plague in 1656. Where are you?
To enter, identify the square described by the text and shown in the picture. Correct answers will be placed in a random prize-draw. For competition rules, please see terms and conditions.

It is somewhere around the Naples area in Italy but I haven't got time to dig further, need to go to work!

This might help if anybody wants to pick up the thread:
Edited: Apologies it appears I followed a red herring and the Italians had more than one martyr involved in the 1656 plague :embarasseSanta Filomena (the martyr who saved the population from the plague in 1656).0 -
I'm going for Lecce as the town, the square is Piazza Sant'Oronzo.

The picture in the magazine is here
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lojDp28LxKU/Tx6uT7GFhvI/AAAAAAAAAQk/lYLf9UZU-6A/s1600/calendarioDEFINITIVO_Page_13.jpg
The question is to "identify the square which is shown in the picture"
So I guess it's the Piazza Sant'Oronzo
Googling Piazza Sant Oronzo brings up more pictures.
The magazine asks to identify the square in the picture and the city in which it is located. The online form just asks to identify the square so the full answer should be
Piazza Sant Oronzo, LecceI woke up last night to find the ghost of Gloria Gaynor standing at the foot of my bed.
At first I was afraid.......then I was petrified.…0 -
Just to confirm ianmurfs post - here is the magazine

Be aware that there are no direct flights to Kalamata (KLX) from the Uk.
Usually 1 or 2 stops.
Just looked at Skyscanner and flights in mid june from london are £190+ per person basic fare.
Tax would be £105.65 on top per person. Thanks to those that post the comps!!

Sorry to bump again.
I did not say that flights were not included merely pointing out how much taxes were likely to be and that there are no direct flights from the UK.
Further along the same paragraph it states: The competition winner will pay flight taxes.
There have been a few comps recently where the prize has not included flght taxes and it's important IMHO to point out how much it may be before deciding to enter.
Thanks to those that post the comps!!
