Loan from own bank?

Evenin all,

Have tried to search this but got nothing helpful.

Wonder if anyone can tell me, if you apply to your own bank for a loan do they search you or just go off their records?

Am halfway through a loan with them and would like to restructure back to the original amount, which they can see has been paid thus far. The problem is, I'd like the money to consolidate other debt, so am aware that if they look at the full picture they probably won't advance me more, even though I'd be paying less monthly.

Anyway, any comments appreciated.

If your credit files are clean then there should be no problem in them rescheduling the loan to repay other debts.

You will be making them a lot of money.

Have you thought you need to change your spending habit to stop this happening again and again?
  • Thanks for your reply Jonesy.

Yeah you're absolutely right, but in the short term transferring existing borrowing will enable me to make a bit more of a dint in it at least. :)
