In financial trouble - any advice would be useful

I was off work last year for 7 months due to illness. After 20 days, I only received SSP. So had to use credit cards - draw out money to pay into my bank account to pay bills, including credit card bills. Stupid I know, but I had no other option.

I have been off work sick again for 7 weeks. Going back next week no matter how I feel. But I had a very low pay last month (I get paid 15th of every month) and next pay will be low again.

Put it simply, I am struggling. I just don't know what to do. I've called mortgage people - no help whatsoever. I've called credit card people, only one was helpful and accepted a £20 payment (should have been much more).

I need some advice please.

    HI there

If I was you, I would contact CCCS. They offer free debt advice and will help you get back on track. They will also help you to see if you are entitled to any benefits you didn't know about.

I've used them and I'm out of debt now.

    All the best.

    Hi

Your priority is the mortgage; even if you cannot pay anything else. Stop paying credit cards or just pay £1 this month.

Can you contact the Trussell Trust as they do food parcels and may well accept you.

Then head over to the MoneySaving Old style forum and work out how to make that food last as long as possible.

Do you have anything you no longer use to sell on e-bay, amazon or at a car boot sale?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
