Wage Slips

Can somebody tell me if it is a requirement for employers to supply wage slips, as a relative of mine has not had one for the last three months even though wages have been paid directly into their bank account? They have now been told they are no longer required and we think they are still owed money, but it is very hard to calculate with no pay slip? Can anyone help?

My husband as the exact same problem with his employer, would be interested in knowing the answer myself.0

The Employment Rights Act 1996 section 8 states that your employer has to provide you with an itemised pay slip.
I am unaware of a more recent act which means they don't - you could call the Inland Revenue and check/report the situation though."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
I was talking to a friend the other day, she's a civil servant and said they get their payslips electronically these days, so I guess that's legal.
But no payslip at all? I don't think so. As you say, how can you work out whether your pay is correct or not without a payslip?
As well as HMRC, I'm sure ACAS would have some information ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
what is the rules on self employed ? I can't get wage slips and when my wages are wrong they won't do anything about it.0

If you're self employed then your wages are your responsibility
Unless of course you're one of the many pseudo-self employed0 -
If you dont get a wage slip i would be very careful. You dont know if you are paying national ins contributions, which could lead to all sorts of complications later. Ie pensions, benefits etc . You need to find out.0
