Miele Washing machine aftercare?

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a Miele washing machine (good reviews, which best buy blah blah).
They all seem to come with a 10 guarantee:
http://www.miele.co.uk/washing-machines/w5000/w5846-homecarexl-418/
but... it excludes Northern Ireland.:mad::mad::mad:
So anyone bought a Miele lately and found a way around this?
Thanks,
BatCat

Bad news I'm afraid. You cannot avail of the 10 year guarantee in Northern Ireland. Not all Miele products have it and even when it is free or even when the existing shorter guarantee can be extended upon payment it still does not apply to Northern Ireland.
I think it is to do with the way the "Irish " market is set up. Yes you can buy an appliance locally (In Northern Ireland which is part of the UK) but as far as I know service is effected by engineers from the Republic of Ireland by a different Miele company from the GB one!
Your choice - you can't get round it. It may not always be (obviously) flagged up on websites if you buy it online that the 10 year guarantee does not apply to Northern Ireland. No point in buying it on line and hoping you will get it fixed in year 5 when it breaks down!
You have been warned!0 -

On the other hand it's Miele so you wouldn't need the Guarantee anyway !!0 -
Check out the range on the miele.ie website. As long as you choose one of the models listed you should be able to buy it from a UK company and still be covered by the Miele Ireland guarantee.
I've been thinking about buying a Miele machine too ... when I can persuade myself to spend a grand on a washing machine!
Have you thought about contacting Miele Ireland for advice before you buy?Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
Thanks folks!
I don't think there is a decent miele Ireland guarantee is there? I emailed Miele today and asked why my aftercare would be based in a foreign country and they said it was down to my 'postal region'. Bah.
It is a replacement on insurance for our previous machine.
I will have a word with Miele Ireland.0 -
I see no sign of a 10 year guarantee on Irish Miele website.
Personally I would stick to a lot cheaper machine. You could still probably replace it it 2-4 times over 10 years for the same money as paying for a Miele.0 -
I would highly recommend the Miele washing machine. I have several kids and the washing machine is on all the time. i have gone through many machines and this one is truely the best. The main reason I bought this machine was down to the actual strength of the machine. i did not want it to break after a few years. I have not had any problem with it...well worth the money.
I bought it from http://www.donaghybros.co.uk/dynamic_content.php?id=89
and they did free delivery for me. I have in the past ordered and paid for items over the phone and had delivery the same day. Unlike some other electrical retailers....I felt that I had a good service and I do not buy my items anywhere else. If they do not stock an items you want, they will get it for you. I ordered a huge Kenwood mixer and it was actually £90 cheaper that the same machine in Euronics in Ballymena!!:beer:0 -
Go to JC Campbell Electrics in Cookstown and they will sort you out with a Miele washing machine including a free 10 year warranty from Miele, that covers Northern Ireland0
