You've picked a very nice part of the North - I live very near there.

Let me know if you want any ideas on what to do

The main things i would recommend are as follows

    - A walk down the promenade - its been all done up recently an is a must see.

A trip to Castlewellan Forsetpark and the peace maze - its great fun getting lost in the maze.

There is then the obvious touristy Newcastle things like amusements, funfair etc. My favourite amusements are Funland just past quinns bar on the main street for the 2p fruit machines, and the one on the right hand side at the bottom of the town as it has the dodgems and other fun stuff in it.

Also - if you're so inclined - go and climb Slieve donard (I've never been up it!)

If you're interested in going out for a drink or too - depending on your age/taste I'd say try the Anchor Bar (which also has lovely food) with is down besdie the Donard Park entrance) or the Donard Bar (Maginns). Or if you're quite young and after somewhere more lively try like Quinns or O'Hares/Coast Night club. Although this all depends on what night you are there. think the anchor generally has ome live music at weekends.

For food, (Other than the Anchor) - I highly recommend Villa Vinci on the main street - its great!

If you weren't going for a spa night - I would say try the seasoak place for a seaweed bath, but you probably don't want anymore spa stuff.

Also check out what if there are any plays on - I think the glee club are doing Calamity Jane at the minute so it could be fun for a night out.

    Hope this helps - Enjoy
