  • £25 added to my savings account, balance now £650 :)

Bank accounts aren't looking too bad. Not much else to report.
  • hi claire have been lurking for a while was wondering if you were tempted to use your savings to pay off most of your overdraft? and use the saved interest to throw at your double glazing!;)so to speak!

  • Hey Eco :)

Ye I originally started saving in a separate account so I could then transfer it back into my bank account and pay off the overdraft. Although after I started saving, I realised that I had never had a bit of savings behind me.

I don't pay interest as such on my overdraft, it is £1 a day regardless of the amount.

I am usually the first to say 'use your savings to pay off debt' so I see where you are coming from, but I can see the comfort people have now with a little bit hidden away. Also means I am getting into good savings habits :)

With the double glazing, I can only pay a certain amount extra a month - I am only allowed to pay up to double what my regular monthly payment is. I am also not allowed to make lump sum payments unless it is the total balance to pay it off. I don't like this debt at all, my biggest financial mistake.
  • I have added £10 to my savings.

I can't really afford to save much more this month as a family member has had to borrow money. Not a big amount, much prefer they borrow from me or a payday loan or something.
  • I really dislike the factoring company for the building I live in.

£190 from my savings to pay a bill that was 'overdue'. Even though I never received a bill in the first place, they added on a fee for having to send me out the demand letter ! Frustrating but at least it is paid.
  • Had an engineer out for my boiler, basically been told if any more parts fail then I will have to replace the boiler. It is really old and a lot of parts aren't made for the model now. So I might have to look into that.

Anyone any advice on new boilers ? Britishgas have said they would offer me £550 off a new one. I really don't have a clue about the cost anyway so I don't know if that would even make a dent in the cost.

On the money front, pretty poor month but I'm hopefully going back to work very soon so I will get back to the grind of debt busting :)

Back to work next week :) Strange to be happy about that.

Got paid today, my wages don't seem right at all so trying to sort that out at the moment.

Gas and electric bills due later this month, never look forward to them. I can see my little bit of savings taking another hit this month.

Double glazing paid with a little extra, balance approx £2320.

Sorted out my wages, not the best but nothing I can do about it.

    Debt balance under £4000 :)

I feel like screaming ! Why is it when you take one step forward life pushing you 20 backwards ?

I honestly will never take on any more debt if at all humanly possible.

    Savings now down to £50.
