Problems with getting reference

    You're worrying about something you don't know answer to.

    You'll only know if you speak to previous employer, preferably person in authority who agreed to give you reference.

    You say your previous employer was unable to give reference, did they refuse or just not reply ?

    People often try to weasel out of what they agreed to for whatever reason.

    They may just need nudge regarding their responsibilities & what they agreed.

    I would telephone the fiance as the person who agreed to the reference.

    As you're worrying you have to speak them face to face to hear how they sound & what the say. Email/letter can never convey that if you think there is a problem.
