  • Hello all,

Today I spent approx £2.80 on some stamps and a magazine. We went food shopping tonight and spent £42 but this is from a different budget.

  • Spent £17.37 in total. Budget was between £5 and £10 a day but some days have been under I think??? so don't feel this is too bad. It wasn't on 'frivolities' (that's a great word :D ) it was stuff we needed. Hope everyone else is keeping on track and staying positive.

    I've spent £10.75p today.

Petrol £10 to last till 1/3/07
    Chocolate fresh cream muffin 75p

This is a great thread. I'm really determined to keep a grip on my spending. I don't miss payments or anything but I waste money that could be saved. I've got a major birthday in 2 years and I want the holiday of a lifetime to save for. I also want to pay off a loan I have earlier and be debt free.

Does anyone keep a spending diary and, if so, do you find that it helps you. Sorry for asking but i'm looking for the best way to help myself so all ideas welcome :D

a spending diary is a great idea as it lets you see where all your money goes.
    Good luck.

  • Bit of a spender for me today...

£10 in Primark on a pretty little black tunic but it's one of those things that I'll dress up and down and will see me through the spring for work and play so money well spent. Oh, and they had the most gorgeous chiffon blouse which I grudgingly walked away from!

£3.99 on a bottle of exam-pass celebration wine which should last me through the weekend.

£1.99 on salmon because a cat's got to eat!
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

  • I am on day 2 of the 'dfw the fly-lady way' and have been instructed to find the “what have you spent today” thread and ‘fess up! Ok so here goes...

I am wrting down all my spends in my diary and now I have to confess all of them to you! This might be just the thing to stop me spending to frivolously!

So today was a good & bad money day:

Let's start with the bad to get it out of the way...
-£83.06 Mobile Phone Bill (not a monthly occurence - but a result of phonecalls/texts made from france ;-() makes me feel sick. Never lettting it get this high again - I've signed up for online billing so that I know where I am with inclusive minutes & texts all through the month.

    The good stuff
+£6.50 Tesco Voucher came through the post
+£50.00 HSBC refund for bank charges
-£0.76 for a bread roll and crisps.
