Aldi or Lidi skin products

I am an avid NO7 user, especially the protect and perfect serum, but due to cut backs I now can't really afford it!
I have oily skin so generally just use the serum as a general moisturiser, I remember a a while ago a big thing about one of the cheaper supermarket's own brand stuff being a great alternative to the NO7 range, so was wondering if someone could remind me!
Or anything else that they might suggest?
I used to buy the 3 for 2 but £42 for three tubes is a bit beyond my means at the moment!
Thanks

I don't like the Aldi/Lidl skincare as I have oily skin too and it gave me loads of blackheads(I'm 45).
I've been using Superdrugs own brand Vitamin E range and I find it very good, I think it's on 3 for 2 at the moment and it's very inexpensive.

Hi OP,
I know exactly what you mean about cut-backs! I've had to do the same but, to be honest, I still maintain the same standards but at a MUCH lower cost & as much as I wouldn't wish the past couple of years I've had financially on my worst enemy it's done me the world of good.
I have tried the A*ldi face wash & found that ok, think it's less than £1, but saw a tip on here that the S*uperdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser was on offer a few months ago & I've been using that since. To be honest, not much difference between the two for my skin & I'll probably revert to the A*ldi wash & use the muslin cloth from the S*uperdrug product when it runs out!
I have also been using the A*ldi serum for a couple of years now, used to use O*lay moisturise & sometimes No. 7 Protect & Perfect but thought I'd give this a go. It's about £4 & I find it really good. I too have oily skin but have found it to be fine for me. On most of the A*ldi skincare they do a couple of versions i.e. for sensitive skin & anti-ageing.
That's all I've tried but they do stock some quite swanky looking wrinkle treatments which get rave reviews in mags (according to info on shelf edge!) but don't think I've seen anything in there skin care wise costing more than £9.99.
I can vouch for their nail polish though -£1.99 & brilliant! In the "bad old days" I used to have a very bad Chanel Nail Polish habit:eek::o but I find this just as good but I must admit I am quite good at applying & always use base & top coat & think this is half the battle.
On the whole, I think it's worth taking a chance if you can afford their prices. If the worst comes to the worst you could use face wash to rinse out your smalls & the serum as hand or foot cream if they don't suit your skin.

Only thing I have tried from Lidl is their facial scrub. Blueish tube. It's very good.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Have you tried the boots time delay range (especially when they do the £5 off vouchers). Aldi face cream I've tried, I use it on my neck but find it stings my face a bit, sensitive skin. Aldi concealer pen for under the eyes I find almost identical to clinique in colour and texture. Brush tends to molt a bit but so much cheaper. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Might be worth checking out https://www.beautypedia.com for the better cheaper products for oily skin rather than to try different products not really knowing if they'll break you out or not. If you like the texture of serums on your skin, then Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum is gorgeous, much nicer and with better ingredients than Protect & Perfect - it's a little bit cheaper online but probably still not as cheap as you'd like.
I make my own CE Ferulic Serum now for my face which I love but I've just popped upstairs as I knew I had a Lacura (Aldi) one somewhere and tried it. It soaks in pretty well and doesn't leave a greasy film, just feels soft. Only thing is the old lady smell - why didn't they fragrance it with something fresh like cucumber or something. Smell is not nice.
If you have a friend in the US, then Cerave PM is just the nicest moisturiser going and full of ceramide goodies too. I bought mine for about $8 over there for 50ml and it's yummy, no breakouts, no residue, perfectly soft skin, sinks in beautifully and quickly so you can do your makeup straight over it (in fact I use it instead of primer).
Boots own Simply Sensitive range too has good reports and they have an anti-redness serum that might be worth a go? http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Simply-Sensitive-Anti-Redness-Serum-30ml_1189245/11th Heaven prizes Number 103

Hi - I think its the aldi lacura q10 range you are thinking of, I use the whole range, eye cream, serum, night and day cream and am loving it! I havent used the protect and perfect serum, but compared to the much pricier stuff I used to use, this stuff is amazing!
I have very oily skin too, but use a linen cloth with oil or liz earle cleanser to exfoliate and that seems to work for my skin..
If you are just thinking of the serum, would def recommend it! :T You can find these on eBay as well as in aldi if there isn't one near you (or if you're just lazy like me! :rotfl:)We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

green1970 - your HM serum sounds good, can you post the recipe here pretty please? I am using henrikson truth serum at the moment which is ok, but too pricey! We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.
