Goal Setting

Hi

Newbie but long time lurker :j

As part of a new performance structure at work we have been asked to set ourselves 4-5 goals for the year which will count towards a bonus/payrise at the end of next financial year. However Im absolutely stuck, the literature sent out to help write our goals is focused towards people who have sales targets or budgets to adhere to. I have no contact with customers/clients. My role only deals with internal colleagues.

As a Personal Assistant working in Financial dept of a large company I have no idea what goals to set and achieve. My day to day role hasnt changed in the 5years ive been there!
Diary management, expenses and travel - thats my job!!

Has anyone got any exciting or motivating ideas for goals i can set myself?

thanks in advance

Hmm streamlining a process you already use? implementing a new system? improving communication? increasing team morale through organised team building exercises? being more proactive and helping to improve business development?

    Do they help?

Goals should be set in conjunction with your manager.

You don't want to set yourself exciting or motivating goals, you want to set yourself goals that you can either manage within the first 3 months, or that you will overachieve at.

All the goals are linked to performance so if you excel by 200% then you should sort yourself out a tidy bonus or payrise without doing anything more than you already would.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
