Need some ideas, so far I have bought the mug advertised on the MSE home page so £2 spent so far.

    I've seen the following giving:
    A saga magazine (or subscription)
A walking stick with a child's bike bell fitted
    Various medical resources
    A pair of slippers
    A chain for glasses
    A magnifying glass

Maybe a selection of high quality tea's/coffees (i.e Twinnings, Douwe Egberts etc.) to go with the mug. Or a nice looking tin of biscuits.

What about a boxed pen (like a Parker)?

If you want silly presents you can get things like blowup walking sticks, memory mints (past times) or anti-aging pills.

We went to a friend's 60th birthday party recently & got him a t-shirt that said "I may be old but I got to see all the great bands". May not be appropriate in your case but it was for him & he wore it straight away (was from ebay).
  • For my OH's 50th in the summer I'm doing a collage of baby photos, football programmes, pictures by the children and other relevant items pertaining to the last 50 years. I'm aiming to get 50 things in the frame (an IKEA box frame) encompassing the major areas of the last 50 years. It's going well- ebay is your friend- and I'm currently at around £40 including the frame and pins. Something similar could be do- able on a smaller scale for much less ;)
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
  • Coins or number one singles from the appropriate year/ week are a nice (and cheapish) gift ;)
