Help please

Not sure if this is the right place to post or even if there is a forum for this, so apologies if in wrong place.

My friend found a letter in her house a few days ago, addressed to her ex. He moved out over a year ago but has been popping in to open any post still coming to the house for him. This letter was only dated a couple of weeks ago and her ex had obviously forgotten to take it with him.

It said roughly, in X County Court, friends name, friends address, friends job, was made bankrupt on said date. As the landlord/lessor could you give details of tenancy agreement, rent, any arrears and any action/outcome of action against the tenant, also could you provide a copy of the tenancy agreement.

Now my friend’s ex has never been her landlord or owned the property, but the tenancy was in his name originally, and changed to hers when he moved out. My friend is now worried, despite having a tenancy agreement with the actual landlord, that her ex is basically up to something, . Just wondered if anyone can help with if there is actually a good reason for this or a better place to post/people to ask? Thanks

Yes it was from insolvency service. Its addressed to her ex, but sent to her address, with date of her bankruptcy etc on it, asking for a tenancy agreement that he had with her. Though she lived with him whilst he rented the property in his name there was never any tenancy agreement between them. As they're no longer speaking she can't ask him if he's replied to the letter or sorted out etc, so is a little worried. We're hoping its just a standard letter. Thanks

yes it is a standard letter, should have the acronym NTL in the top right hand corner, It will just be because he was renting the property, so he was effectively subletting to her, nothing to worry about, but should tell her OR that he wont be responding since he is not there any more
