My system for paying off the mortgage early
Play_The_System
I'm very much a mortgage-free wannabe. I've been focussed on it for the last 2-3 years and I have a system of sorts and a multi-pronged attack! It's all here: https://www.playthesystem.co.uk
My site is really a record of what I'm up to, and I recently decided to publish it so that others could the share the info. The site makes no money whatsoever. If you can use any of it, great. Leave a message in my guestbook!

Very nice. All the useful stuff off this site (and others), but someone else has searched and collated them so that you don't have to. Good idea.
If you're interested in feedback:
The font is a tad small though and gave me a bit of eye strain!
The initial blurb on the site is a bit wordy and dull (sorry, trying to be honest) and I almost clicked off before I had the chance to see how good the rest of the site was.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Hi
Good informative site. Have you considered monetising the site at all? this could be done at least on the search, if so, consider a mirago feed on your own URL, your design.0 -
Welcome Play the System. It's great to meet another MFW and good luck with your goal. We've paid £77k off our £245k mort in under 5 years. We'd like to pay our 25 year old mortgage off in 10 yrs but it will probably be 12. Saving £130k:eek:

We're high rate tax payers. You may well have to defend your investment strategy on this board as there are some MSEers who are very anti-paying off your mortgage, so be warned. They haven't convinced me though-good returns (7-8% - interest rate plus 40% tax) and zero risk.....(and Yes we do have a pension and savings as well).
Good luck and Nice web site0 -
Thank you all for your comments.
I see what you mean about front page wordiness - I think I'll shift the bulk to a new page and make the front page more succinct.
Save-a-lot, can you elaborate on your suggestions? I googled mirago but it seems to be about me paying them rather than them paying me?0 -
Must say I agree with Dithering Dad. Font is way too small and I've got my reading glasses on!
Some good stuff. Good luck!0 -
Site updated through your various feedback so thanks. But not the font! Suffice it say MS Office Live has a few bugs as it's in BETA and a mass changing of the font size leads to issues that I learned the hard way. So it'll have to stay tiny...0

Hello P.T.S.
the font size issue can be altered via explorer, just go to view > text size > and select the size of the text from smallest to largest.
