What if I cannot remember what I spent money on?

I am trying at the moment to complete my bankruptcy application - my debts consist of personal loans taken on in May 2009 and October 2010, and credit card debts.

Unfortunately my problem is that I cannot remember what I spent the money on? :o:o:o

Most of it would have gone on day-to-day living expenses as I was living a lifestyle far in excess of my income, and the loans were both for debt consolidation, but I always used online banking so have no bank statements for that long ago? The bank removed my bank account from the online system when I entered into a repayment arrangement with them :o

I can see that the OR will NOT be impressed by this, but I am not sure how to resolve the situation :o

Dont worry about it. None of us remember what the money was spent on - it can be a period of many, many years in some cases.

The OR wants to know the general idea rather than individual transactions - unless of course the sees money being sent to the Cayman Islands or bet365 etc! So living expenses, holidays and other larger purchases are what he expects. If there is money being spent on gambling you should declare that.

But dont sweat the small stuff too much. The OR will get all the statements he needs direct from the banks anyway.

Thanks Skylight I could hug you :rotfl:

I have been struggling financially for about 2 years now, so I am looking back with total horror at the casual way I incurred debt in 2009/2010, but at least I dont have to account for every penny. Living expenses, car repair bills and vets bills seem to account for most of it
