I find my local Co-op sends flyers round to all the village advertising there new BOGOF's or half price items. I go into the store on the very day these things go on offer and find the shelves empty! Utterly infuriating.
Last year they ran a Cadbury Creme Egg promo for 4 weeks. The actual 6pk of eggs was only on the shelves for 2 days. I went in every day after and was told "we are waiting for a delivery". There must be some legislation about advertising items that you dont actually have in stock?

I tried it once and I couldn't comment on how effective it isn't, but the taste isn't brilliant and a normal amount doesn't seem enough for one use.

I'd only buy it if I couldn't get anything else - but I'd recommend the cheap one that Tesco does (30p) - tastes nice and seems to work well as far as I can tell.

I don't know of any - maybe someone else does?

I'm guessing they advertise so well that all the bargains get snapped up - but you'd think they'd cotton on that people will stop paying attention if the products aren't available.

It might be worth an email to the shop or the company just to make them aware, I guess. At least with my email I feel someone's heard what I had to say, though whether it has any longer term effect I'll have to wait and see.

Come to think of it, a few years ago a number of us asked for a Fairtrade product - at first we were told there wasn't the demand but eventually it was stocked. So maybe if more than one person made a point of asking for more of the offers you might get a result?

I found that a local supermarket was always out of a particular frozen item, the slot invariably being filled with something else.

I guessed why - lazy staff who couldn't be bothered to take excess stock back to the freezer and who then threw it into the adjacent slot, and lazy stocktakers who just saw that the slot 'looked full' and didn't bother to check further, with the result that it was never reordered.

I pointed this out to a manager, who, as this was a good line, was actually quite pleased. It was restocked within days.

Good for you! And it will have helped the shop because their sales will have gone up. :)
