Could part time work lead to full time?

It seems to be the trend lately 16hrs a week, There aren't many jobs locally to apply for but the rare couple that do appear are part time 16 hours a week, I've came across 2 today 16hrs, might be in with a shot of getting them, they are the first 2 jobs I've saw locally in over a month so it kills me that it might be pointless applying, by the time I factor in my travel I'd get less than on JSA, both warehouse type jobs. What do you think, are the worth a shot? By the time I pay my travel i'd have £40 left. Stupid?:(

No, I'd have £40 a week left after I take out my travel, 16hrs at min wage around £105

So on jsa you get £67 but if you worked you would have £40?

    You would be worse off?

£65 a week to travel to work locally? That's some very expensive transport system you have.

We only have 1 bus a day leaving the village so would need to get a taxi. The company has advertised 6 jobs now, All part time, but its not gonna pay me :(

If you went for a boc calculation at the jobcentre and were going to be £27 a week worse off they wouldn't advise you take the job.
