Extras TV agency scams

There has been a large increase in these up front fee scams where casting / TV extra agencies advertise on local radio including BBC and set up registration days.
Participants arrive are given a form to fill in and are told there pictures are not good enough and can only be registered if they have a photo done in a sheep dip type photo room.
They are charged fees from £25-£75 depending on area for the "services of the photographer" then thanked and sent on their way.
Whilst they are genuine TV extra agencies work in this area is quite rare and they are quite obviously some scam agencies taking peoples money and vanishing, one in Leeds is thought to have stung 300 people for £25 a pop ! :eek:
Anyone been stung ?
Or on the other hand had good experiences ?
