It seems to be working now. I had problems getting the confirmation email yesterday. Tried again this morning without any bother.Occasional comper, even more occasional winner!

I just bought this issue today out of curiosity.
It is filled with puzzles (as you would expect) but I notice there is hardly any advertising in it.
It makes me wonder where they get there revenue from. I suppose the same goes for a lot of other puzzle magazines.
I know with most newspapers and magazines the price you pay barely covers the distribution costs and the profits are made from the advertising within them.
Issue Number 1 of Prize Puzzles is just 99p in the shops.
With hardly any adverts how do they ever make a profit?
Do they have some other source of revenue?0 -

it's £1.99 for the next issue,
£1.75 for the pocket codewords,
& it shows the price of the other ones on thier site,
could say the same for puzzler.com
there's no advertising in them mags just full of puzzles
& the ones to enter online for the comps,
so how do they make a profit ?
say a couple of people buy the mags, post the answers/comps on here,
thousands enter so the online entries far outweigh the sales of the mags :rotfl:
be interesting to find out if someone could answerplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -

Whoever designed and built this site is obviously not a seasoned pro, the form made me laugh out loud at the work they caused themselves ...this may be why the emails aren't so hot if they have been fiing bugs as they go a little.
Whoever did that form may have gone the long way round it and made it look awful but it's really nice to use, it's a shame a lot more aren't so easy. I've seen the magazine but not this comp on here before, that's a bit unusual but it's got some cracking prizes so thx a lot for the postHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. 2 answers to that.
1) Some don't and shut up shop.
2) Go to your local hospital and look in the newsagents, that's where I saw this one and dozens of others. People need them in places like that. My mum used to do them after she came out of hossy and a few of her mates used to get them from her when they were in local old folks homes....IF these had been normal mags they would have bee passed on when my Mum had read them but puzzle mags are useless when the puzzles are done so they all need a new oneMy mum only ever entered a few times for any comp...never online. She forgot or couldn't be bothered.

Hi, i'd already bought this one & the ones from this mag site prior to Alison posting it on here

i only ever do the competition puzzles in all the mags,
Take a Break monthlys, Puzzler.com monthlys, Puzzle.comp monthly, etc
& have all of them ordered at my newsagents (except the handy puzzler.coms as they are exclusive to Tesco only)
i don't bother doing the other puzzles in the mags as there's no prize for them, so on some of them there's quite a lot of puzzles in the mags that haven't been done,
i then divide the mags (when the closing dates have finished) & divide them up between the nearest hospital to me so they've plenty of puzzles to go at each month,
the weekly ones i buy, ie: take a break, chat, love it, real people, full house, pick me up, that's life, woman, womans own, bella, best, my weekly, woman's weekly, etc
(plus specials, quarterly mags, other monthly puzzle mags) just to name a few are then put in our 'communial' room for the other elderly residents in the complex for the over 55's i live in, who in turn read them/do the puzzles/take them back to thier flat/ then pass them on to whoever,
so think i do my fair share of 'passing them on' & helping the 'old people'please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
All seemed fine for me in Chrome. I don't remember getting email confirmation, but every answer seemed to be accepted fine on the website. Thanks for doing these Alison :cool:I am brave, I am bruised

Thanks Alison18 for the comp and also to Fire**fly and One-Eye. Have just signed up for this. No problems all went through ok. Received confirmation email and have also managed to change my password. Long entry process!!! As you say each comp has to be entered separately but worth it if you win. Good Luck all0
