Can i work from home, online?

I have recently moved to a new area very far from where i was. I am going to uni in september and want to save up until then. Jobs i have applied for want so much experience that at 18 i just don't have. Id love to work at home and online, doing whatever. Can i do this? are there any jobs available online that i can do? I've looked into 'surveys' and such but they all seem like scams.. I would prefer to work at home as i look after my little brother and sister as my dad works full time and i dont have a mum. Im really good on a computer and can type really fast but when i looked into audio typing i couldnt find any sites that looked legit! Please help me!
Thank you
:)
Thank you

I doubt there are many opportunities like that - unless there is something you can do which an Indian call centre (for instance) cannot do cheaper. You might get some different ideas from the 'up your income' forum here. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Set up a blog, write something interesting and get advertising money?0

Try Googling for Transcription Services, I've no idea whether it can be done from home or how much it would pay but logically it seems to be the sort of thing that could be done at home, all it needs is for a sound file to be emailed and you send back a word document.0

I have been participating in online surveys for a long period of time now and have found them extremely beneficial, but I think it depends which sites you join! The ones I would recommend, which I have made the most money from are:
https://www.panelopinion.co.uk - this is my favourite survey website, it is simple but effective...You can withdraw your money when you get to £10 and it doesn't take that long to build up a good amount.
https://www.valuedopinion.co.uk - this website is good because they frequently have new surveys, which means you can qualify for them more often.
https://www.toluna.com - same as valuedopinion
https://www.surveyfriends.co.uk - this website rewards you with vouchers and prizes, which seem VERY easy to win lol. During 2012 I have already won a £50 amazon voucher and a £10 ticketmaster voucher and my friend won a 40" HD TV just before xmas. I am recommending this website based on our recent and previous success
Note: If a survey website asks you to pay them in order to register, its probably a scam! 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!0 -
Yes I have a good one. I just finished my 11 month contract with Lionbridge and they're currently recruiting from the UK.

There's a big lionbridge thread on the Up Your Income board if you want more info, but it's been a good money maker for me

Also, do you have any admin skills you can sell on ebay? You say you are a good typist, so have a think about services you could provide relating to this. When you're going through hell, keep going...0 -
Thank you everyone!0

My sister works from home as a transcriptionist, for an online company called Transcription City, it's quite hard work, but she earns a reasonable amount. I think she had to do a couple of typing tests.
Hope this helps!
