Parking at Odyssey

Hi all

Heading to Odyssey on Sat(1.30pm) to X Factor. Was wondering if any of you had any suggestions with car parking. I was up at Disney on Ice in October & very nearly missed the start of show cause of the traffic & the fact that the police had closed the slip road. Kids were been dropped off in middle of motorway-it was a nightmare:( I ended up getting a parking ticket:mad:. Is the road likely to be closed again? Im travelling from fermanagh so train bus etc isnt an option.

Thanks in advance:T

    Hi,

I work for the events team at the odyssey and so can sympathise with the traffic you are talking about! If possible could you travel earlier? That way you are more likely to get a space and in good time, even if you could stretch the budget to a drink in the bar, or coffee before hand? This is usually what I do when going to gigs as it saves the last minute panic!

People usually start arriving at shortly after 5.30, so expect a small queue but hopefully nothing like what you experienced the last time! Xfactor is always a busy show though so the sooner you arrive the better!

If not theres a carpark opposite the bridge near the odyssey, im not sure of their weekday rates but all day Saturday is £3 and its literally a 5 minute walk awya, striaght across the road at the set of traffic lights. Other options I can think of is parking more central in centre and either allowing time to walk over.

    HTH :)
Life is what you make it.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
St Anne's Square is just across the river from the Odyssey and has pretty keen rates (I know the last few times I parked there it was £1 an hour and is at most half a mile walk). From there you can drive easily to the Westlink via Millfield and onto the M1 so it would be pretty easy to get away afterwards.

    Hi there
I am going to see One Direction at the Odyssey this Thurs night and was going to park in around Ann St/Victoria Sq and walk over.
I know this is probably a stupid question (as I have never walked over to the Odyssey before) but is there a footbridge that takes you over ( I have seen a white type footbridge leading somewhere beside the big painted fish) or do you have to walk over Queens bridge? I'll probably be walking in the dark and my sense of direction is hopeless, so the more info the better. Thanks in advance

There's a big foot bridge right beside the big fish. You couldn't miss it.
