I know it's impossible to know what's going on in Merv's head and to predict what's going to happen with the BoE Base Rate, but I was wondering what the learned people of MSE think the future holds for the Base Rate.
So, using the information you've obtained from a variety of sources, what would you bet on the interest rates doing?
I number of what I suspect will be popular options are included in the poll; please post others.

Increase in base to up to 1% by end of 2014The problem with this poll is that i think more than one of those options will be true.
For instance,
i think interest rates will remain at 0.25% until the end of this year. I also think they will rise by 1% by the end of 2014 (which i selected).I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I'd be gobsmacked if they stayed at 0.25%.
They haven't got there yet!0 -

Other (detail below)Very much out of Merv's or the BOE's control. So many issues that haven't been resolved yet. Looking ahead there's no way of forecasting.0
